Webinar on Power Dynamics Post COVID -19

  • Dr. Patrick Mendis  Patrick Mendis, a former American diplomat and a military professor, is currently serving as a Taiwan fellow of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China and a distinguished visiting professor of global affairs at the National Chengchi University as well as a visiting scholar of the Taiwan Center for Security Studies in Taipei.

To discuss the crisis that has revealed the underlying priorities of China and its agility to innovate and adapt, starting with the recasting of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) into a "Health Silk Road."

Context

Synergia Foundation jointly with the Taiwan Centre for Security Studies is hosting a Webinar (Synergia Forum 69) on 'Power Dynamics Post COVID -19'.

Beyond the curve: The Synergia Foundation has been working on pandemics and other asymmetric threat vectors for more than three decades. In 2008, the Foundation in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), US simulated a pandemic attack (avian flu) and how this would impact governments, industry and civil society. The Foundation in 2013, organized a global conference on disaster mitigation and brought together experts to discuss Chemical, Biological and Nuclear threats.
